Department of Rural and Community Development

The overall objectives of this department is about producing professionals who are able of handling today’s complex rural development problems specifically in development projects design and management, in the domain of environment, land management, employment creation, gender and social justice, peace building, good governance and public policy management.
SPECIFIC OBJECTIVES OF RURAL AND COMMUNITY DEVELOPMENT
Train professionals capable of creating and managing in a rational and optimal way the projects and /or the companies;
Promote an ecologically friendly development through the creation of a quality biophysical environment which ensures both the protection of biodiversity and the creation of systems of long-lasting output;
Provide to churches managerial staff for their development projects;
Participate in different training programs relating to development ;
Promote joint research activities in different domains.
PERFORMANCE PROFILE
Students who will have followed the program of development studies in the Department of Rural and Community development will be employed in the following fields:
Development projects design and management, environment protection, rural and urban development, cooperative management, agriculture and animal husbandry, development policies planners for local government Institutions.
